Iceland is for those with a little sense of adventure and who truly want to get away from it all. We’re offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the splendor of this island nation where the people are wonderful, the sights are grand, and where 90%+ are fully vaccinate. Plus, it’s only 5 1/2 hours from New York City.
We will follow the ring road all around the island on this whirlwind tour of Iceland. We’ll see an active volcano (from a safe distance), the geysers of the Golden Circle, the icebergs of the Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach, the many gorgeous waterfalls surrounding the Ring Road, and some of the natural landmarks made famous in the HBO show Game of Thrones. Of course, we’ll get to warm up in the famous Blue Lagoon.
For those of you have had the Northern Lights on their bucket list early April provides arguably the best opportunity as there are still 12 hours of darkness and milder weather conditions. With sunlight until about 8pm we will have full days and restful nights. Did you know that in the Winter it stays dark all day and in the Summer it stays light all night?
We’ll be fully guided by locals and driven to all locations on roads that are in pristine condition. Walking is minimal as all of our visited locations are easily accessible just steps from parking locations. We will also have the opportunity to enjoy many of the different local foods along the way. Picky eaters will have no worries as you can almost always find steak, fish, a hamburger and fries, pasta, and sandwiches.
Iceland will be one of those trips you won’t want to miss. Our guides will make sure we learn about the Viking history and a little bit of the language, and have a very enriching experience. With the difficulties of travel these days, April is the most logical time to travel there. Time to pick out your favorite warm coat and boots because Iceland here we come!
